CD Projekt is preparing to release a highly anticipated update for Cyberpunk 2077 next week, offering an additional set of gameplay components. The release of Update 2.1 will coincide with the release of the Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition on December 5.
The Ultimate Edition, which CD Projekt launched earlier this month, is a comprehensive package that includes both the basic game and the Phantom Liberty expansion. This version will be offered in particular markets both digitally and physically, catering to platforms such as Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
To provide an in-depth look at the future update, quest director Pawe Sasko and producer Monika Janowska will have a livestream on Twitch on December 1 at 7am PT / 12pm ET / 3pm GMT / 4 CET.
The announcement follows the success of Cyberpunk 2077, which sold an incredible three million copies in its first week of release in late September. CD Projekt recently stated that the game's only expansion, Phantom Liberty, has topped 4.3 million purchases in the first two months of its release, attesting to its ongoing appeal.
While before announcements in September suggested that major improvements for Cyberpunk 2077 were nearing completion, with the development team redirecting its attention to other projects, fresh revelations indicate that the team is still committed. CD Projekt is not only improving the Cyberpunk 2077 experience, but also developing the sequel at its North American offices, showing the company's commitment to evolving and expanding the game's universe.
