Understanding the Wanted System in Assassin's Creed Shadows
In Assassin's Creed Shadows, causing change in towns and engaging in battle can lead to Wanted status. This means that enemies in the area will be on high alert, making exploration and battle much more difficult.
If you discover yourself tagged as Wanted, you must clear your status to avoid ongoing battles and increased security. There are two basic methods for removing your Wanted level: wait for a season change or use scouts.
How to Clear Your Wanted Level in Assassin's Creed Shadows
Method 1: Wait for the season to change
The best way to clear your Wanted level is to leave the area and wait for the season to change. However, this strategy needs patience, as each season lasts a certain period of in-game time:
Spring and Summer: 70 minutes each.
Fall and Winter: 90 minutes each.
How to Manually Change Seasons
If you don't want to wait naturally, you can manually change the season.
Open the map screen.
Look at the compass in the upper right corner.
When the compass points south, push right on the D-pad to proceed through the season.
Changing the season restores your Wanted status while also refreshing vendor inventories, enemies, and scouts. However, it makes no difference to the current weather patterns.
Method 2: Use Scouts to remove the Wanted status instantly
If you don't want to wait for the seasons to change, you may use Scouts to complete your Wanted level right away. However, this strategy needs you to upgrade your Kakurega (Hideout) to Level 2.

Collect the following resources:
580 Crops
440 Wood
150 Minerals
To improve, use the workbench in your hideout.
Clear your wanted level
Open the map.
Hover over the Wanted region.
Hold down X (Xbox) or A (PlayStation) to clear the status.
This allows you to remove your Wanted status right away, without having to wait for the season to change.
What Happens When You Are Wanted?
If you set off an alarm, you will immediately become Wanted. This leads to the following:
Guardian Enemies spawn
These tough enemies wear animal masks and have a red symbol above their health bars.

Region-wide hostility
Any opponent within the affected province will attack on sight.
