Dragon's Dogma 2 fast travel feature is similar to that of its predecessor, but it has some unique features. Although it is easy, especially when traveling across large areas, it has risks and costs. This guide will walk you through the various methods of fast travel in Dragon’s Dogma 2 and how to make the most of them.

How to Fast Travel in Dragon's Dogma 2

Fast travel in Dragon's Dogma 2 is essentially based on two key elements: Ferrystones and Portcrystals.

1. Ferrystones: These are unique objects that provide you the ability to go to places where portcrystals are hidden. Portcrystals are found in large settlements and can be identified by their black and purple appearance.

You must first find a Portcrystal in a community and interact with it in order to activate a Ferrystone for fast transport. Vernworth's Portcrystal, for example, is located in the town center, behind the pawn guild building.

2. Portcrystals: You can get and use your own portable Portcrystals around the game setting in addition to using the ones that are already there. Compared to the Portcrystals located in the town, these crystals are smaller and have a blue glow.

You can carefully plant up to 10 Portcrystals in the locations of your choice. It's best to place them near important NPCs or in locations without natural Portcrystals. This flexibility enables efficient travel across the map.

Using Oxcarts for Fast Travel

If you don't have Ferrystones or Portcrystals, you can still travel quickly by using oxcarts. These carts travel between nearby villages and provide a lovely tour, though you can skip the ride by resting.

Oxcarts leave towns in the morning for a price of between 100 and 200 gold. If you miss the departure, use the oxcart marker till the morning. Watch out for ambushes by bandits or creatures along the path; protecting the oxcart allows you to complete your journey safely.

While fast travel in Dragon's Dogma 2 is useful, it's important to understand its mechanics and limits. Whether using Ferrystones, Portcrystals, or oxcarts, each technique has its own set of benefits and drawbacks.
