CEO Yves Guillemot says Ubisoft is doubling down on its commitment to open-world action-adventure and live service games. During a recent Q&A session following the company's Q3 financial results for the fiscal year 2024-25, Guillemot detailed Ubisoft's long-term development strategy.
When asked about the publisher's future plans, Guillemot stated that the major focus will remain on massive open-world experiences like the Assassin's Creed series, as well as live service titles like Rainbow Six Siege and The Crew Motorfest.
Guillemot stated;
“We have been making substantial investments to build a strong lineup of games that align with our two core pillars—open-world action-adventure and live service experiences. This will be our strategy moving forward, with consistent releases year after year.”
Ubisoft Long-Term Vision
Ubisoft's live service strategy has already delivered positive outcomes, with The Crew Motorfest surpassing its predecessor, The Crew 2, in terms of player retention and profits.
Guillemot also discussed the company's planned key releases:
“We are gearing up for the launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows in the near future. Additionally, next year will see significant developments for Rainbow Six across all platforms, which marks a major milestone in our overall growth strategy.”
Ubisoft's other projects include Anno 117: Pax Romana, which will be released next year, and The Division: Resurgence for mobile. While specifics for the fiscal year 2026 remain unknown, Guillemot promised investors that further information will be provided by May.
With this clear approach, Ubisoft is establishing itself as a leader in open-world and live service gaming, ensuring a consistent stream of content for years to come.
