Ubisoft has announced a second delay for the highly anticipated Assassin's Creed: Shadows. The medieval Japan-set stealth game, which was originally scheduled for release in November 2024 and then pushed back to February 2025, will now be released on March 20, 2025.

In a statement released on January 9, Ubisoft explained the decision, pointing out that it was necessary for additional development time to include player feedback and offer an enhanced experience. The company stated,

“These few additional weeks will ensure an even more ambitious and engaging day-one experience,”

Ubisoft highlighted its commitment to quality, stating,

“We remain dedicated to creating a high-quality, immersive game that reflects the ongoing collaboration between our players and development teams. Stay tuned for more updates soon!”

The delay comes as Ubisoft faces difficult times, including low sales of Star Wars Outlaws and continuous talk about a potential company sale. Despite setbacks, Assassin's Creed Shadows remains a notable title, since it is the franchise's first release exclusively on next-generation consoles—PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC—leaving the PS4 behind after more than a decade.

Fans eagerly await more details, hoping that this extra time would result in a standout addition to the Assassin's Creed series.
